Effective October 14, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and 10xApps (“we”, “us”), who makes Beam. By creating an account or using Beam you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Beam. How we handle your data is in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough in your country to agree to these terms yourself. You sign in with your Apple ID, and you are responsible for what happens on your account.
Beam connects two people. You pair with one partner at a time, using a code or an invite link, and the two of you share one thread: messages, photos, videos and voice messages, some of which also appear on each other's Home Screen widget. Either of you can leave the pair, report something the other sent, or delete your account, at any time, from inside the app.
Beam is free. If we ever introduce paid features, we will tell you before anything is charged, and payments will go through Apple.
What you send through Beam is yours. To run Beam we need your permission to store it, copy it, convert it into formats your partner's phone and widget can show, and deliver it to your partner. You give us that permission — worldwide, without charge, and only for operating Beam — for as long as the content is on our servers. It ends when the content is deleted, except for copies in backups until they expire and a copy kept with a report, as the Privacy Policy describes.
Stickers in Beam's editor come from GIPHY. They belong to GIPHY or to the people who made them, are offered under GIPHY's own terms, and are not checked by us. A sticker you add becomes part of the photo or video you send, and these terms apply to what you send.
Only send what you have the right to send. Your partner can see, keep and save what you send them; once it is on their phone, neither we nor you can take it back.
Do not use Beam to send, or to do, any of the following:
If your partner sends something that breaks these terms, report it from the thread: press and hold the message, then choose Report. You can also leave the pair from the same place, or from your profile, which stops them sending you anything more.
Reports are reviewed by a person, usually within 24 hours. If something breaks these terms we may remove it, suspend or delete the account that sent it, and, where the law requires or someone is in danger, pass it to the authorities. The person who sent it is not told that it was reported.
You can leave a pair or delete your account at any time, in the app. What deletion removes, and what it cannot reach, is in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or if the law requires us to. We may also change Beam, or stop offering it; if we stop, we will tell you in advance where we can, so you can save what you want to keep.
Beam is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it running and your content safe, but we do not promise that it will always be available, that every message will arrive, or that your widget will always update — iOS decides when a widget refreshes. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Beam, and our total liability to you for any claim about Beam is limited to 50 US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Beam after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not, you can delete your account.
These terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Beam and its content.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in its courts.
